Spoiler Alert: I now have a tween and a teen – both boys, and the search for cool Easter basket fillers takes a bit more planning and dedicated hunting each year. I always want creative “toys” or gifts – most of which aren’t candy. But nobody wants the eye rolls 🙄! I seriously think that this is my best list yet! I’ve found for more grown up Easter baskets for teens and tweens that feel more grown-up, are still fun, and are definitely personalized to each child young adult in your life!
I know. We’re all starting to wonder – when are teens and tweens too old for Easter baskets?
Mine are 12 and 15 now and they definitely still want their Easter baskets. And if I’m honest? I love that they still want these symbolic displays of love from me.

As they and so many of our neighborhood friends are growing up, we’ve changed things up a bit.

As we’re watching our friend grow up, our Easter celebration has changed up too. The “big kids” now love hiding the Easter eggs for the “littles” to have fun on an Easter egg hunt while parents gather to sip lattes or mimosas and enjoy each others company.
We also have a laid back pot luck brunch for everyone. Again, with the big kids tending to and entertaining the littles.
30 Last Minute Easter Basket Stuffers!
Last year, I put puzzle pieces into the plastic eggs and color coded them. The big kids took charge dividing everyone into two teams. Team “Bunny” collected red, pink, orange, and yellow eggs. Team “Duckie” collected green, blue, purple, and turquoise eggs. They each knew how many eggs they needed to find to gather all the pieces for their puzzle. The team to collect and assemble their puzzle first won prizes!
My Easter basket ideas before this year followed a definite formula – I always included at least one item from each category: seasonal LEGO; an Easter related book; something outdoor or garden related; a stuffed animal (usually some cute beanie baby); and something to play with – spring colored blocks or something like that.
The times have changed a bit, and I’ve upped my game, but everyone enjoyed this year’s baskets sooooo much!!!
