Are you looking for terrific and creative summer activities for kids that will get them off a screen, like I was? I shared all the great DIY ideas that I found right here and I also love that you can use so many of these ideas to make handmade gifts for friends. #actsofkindness
Do you ever get giddy thinking about how close you came to missing a really special moment? Well, for me, this post is that really special moment. Almost missed. And here’s why.
I’m just not the Pinterest mom searching for crafts for teens and tweens or the crafty mom at all. You wouldn’t want to see ANY crafts or even ideas for crafts for teens or tweens that I would come up with. I can jam on some process – but credible results? Not so much. I can follow instructions – but that’s where my crafty talent ends. Trust me on this. #notmyskillset
But…I do completely rock the investigation and researching skill set. And I decided to do some planned (planning is also generally not my strong suit) activities with my boys this summer. So I started looking around for arts, games, activities or crafts for teens and/or tweens that we would enjoy this summer.
Summer Activities for Teens & Tweens
Summer. That glorious time of the year when moms don’t have schedules and the kids joyfully play together without incident. Or, maybe you’ve given your kids an 80’s summer – they leave the house in the morning and don’t come home until dinner and you and your gal pals sip margaritas by the pool?
Ok – let’s get real. My boys will play together peacefully for about…hmmm…15 minutes? It wasn’t until after I found all this awesomeness that it hit me. I should be sharing this with you!!!! So – that’s how we almost missed this beautiful togetherness.
Summer activities, games, and crafts seemed like a better idea than getting into a Pokemon card game since moms have no chance of winning or of even having minute success. Ever. Because the rules continually change. I digress. Back to arts and crafts for teens and tweens. I couldn’t believe how many great ideas I was able to find – there’s something here for every mood, every weather disaster, every tween or teen, boys or girls, and there are even enough ideas here to use one idea for each day of the summer. And you’ll have some left over.
Here they are – the activities and crafts for teens and tweens that I found to keep the kiddos occupied – hopefully with a little less screen time and a little more sane time for you:
